CFDA Call This Exhibition
“THE MUST SEE CULTURAL EVENT OF 2025”
As curator, I am thrilled to invite you to Esthétique, an extraordinary exhibition presenting an assemblage of figures of style, haute portraits, and abstracts—an emergence of historic artistry and today’s most visionary creatives, a celebration that your presence will make truly unforgettable. Icons of elegance, immortalized in art, an exhibition where fashion and art converge in timeless sophistication—honoring the art of iconic design or icons of elegance, fashioned identity, and style.
Featuring artists Anthony Haden-Guest, Marc Bouwer, S.L. Fuller, Mary Reid, Helene Guétary, Noah Becker, Bill Buchman, Christophe Von Hohenberg, Eddy Ochieng, Audrey Schilt and Peggy Bates, Esthétique highlights the dialogue between vision, tradition, beauty and style. It’s not something one can teach: either you have it or you don’t. Fashion is so much more than clothing: it’s a state of mind. Bouwer’s gowns are not just articles to wear; they capture a moment in time and evoke an essence of glamour while accentuating the female form. S.L. Fuller’s “Les Desmoiselles” pay homage to the cutting-edge sensuality of Aubrey Beardsley and the Art Nouveau movement and complement other works of ink like Anthony Haden-Guest’s witty and ironic cartoons. The epitome of style, Guest has worked as a writer and art critic throughout his decades-long career and is still, at 88, a social butterfly. Reid, whose Florentine education honed her classical training, paints fashionable women in oil on canvas with a mastery reminiscent of Vermeer. Her divinely feminine paintings pair seemlessly with Noah Becker’s striking works of whimsy and the haberdashery also seen in Audrey Schilt’s work. A recent addition to the group is Eddy Ochieng, with his expression natural beauty, made up with an aqua finish. Guétary, who styled, painted, choreographed, and photographed children to build a suburban school, transforms empathy into art. Peggy Bates’ richly textured pieces are tactile and turn color into its own entity as Bill Buchman’s abstractions evoke movement much like a stunning garment swaying to jazz music. Christophe Von Hohenberg’s stunning black and white portraits tell more of a story than any single piece of attire. Hélène Guétary’s multi-disciplinary art combines several forms of media as she transforms herself into a character one moment (à la Cindy Sherman) and then focuses on the movement of red flowing fabric the next.
After curating over 150 exhibitions and serving as muse on the runway for Saint Laurent, Miyake, Chanel, Lagerfeld, and Armani, to name a few, and appearing on numerous Vogue covers, commercials, advertising, and editorials, Supermodel Curator Debbie Dickinson, from her namesake Debbie Dickinson Gallery, proudly presents this premiere exhibition at the Arthouse Hotel. This red-carpet Opening will welcome leading figures in art, fashion, culture, and society to one of 2025’s most anticipated cultural evenings.
