CONVERGENCE

Convergence: Where diverse visions meet to create unexpected harmony.
The Convergence Exhibition at the Art on Paper Fair presents seven artists whose approaches span abstraction, photography, collage, satire, and architectural exploration. Rather than isolating each practice, the exhibition emphasizes the intersections—where diverse artistic languages encounter one another and spark layered dialogues of vision, form, and thought. Bill Buchman’s meditative acrylic abstractions immerse viewers in fluid fields of cool variations of blue, while S.L. Fuller reinterprets the figurative through the elegant lens of Art Deco, using pen and India ink to merge modernist history with contemporary refinement. Carole Bolger investigates “Architectural Existentialism,” drawing on structural motifs to probe the tension between space, existence, and human habitation, while Michael Katz balances vibrant, multi-hued abstraction with quiet expanses of white, aligning chaos and order in dynamic tension Iran Issa Khan monumentalizes natural forms in her photography, elevating coral into flower-like symbols of fragility and resilience, while Al Diaz transforms fragments of urban language and collage into politically and spiritually resonant compositions. Closing the circle, Anthony Haden-Guest’s incisive “Artoonery” fuses wit and critique, illuminating the cultural landscape with sharp humor. Convergence here is both theme and encounter—an exhibition in which disparate practices generate unexpected harmonies, revealing new ways of seeing and perceiving.
